Feeling Hopeless...

We all go through seasons in our life where we feel hopeless. Whether you lost someone, you didn't get that promotion, you didn't get that proposal, or you don't know how you are going to pay the next bill and put food on the table. You are not alone and there is hope. His name is Jesus.

In Judges 6 it tells the story about the Midianites taking over Israel. The Midianites led the people of Israel to sin against God. The Israelites made hiding places for themselves and whenever the Israelites grew crops the Midianites would destroy their crops and strip them until their land was bare. Many Israelites were starving and they felt hopeless. They cried out to the Lord to help them get out of their situation. The Lord then sent them a prophet to teach them. Then an angel of the Lord appears to Gideon and said to him “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you” and Gideon replied “if the Lord is with us why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestor told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The Lord brought us up out of Egypt’? But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites.” The Lord then turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” Gideon replies ”how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

It was 300 vs 300,000 Midianties. Be in Gideon's shoes for a moment it seems so hopeless. How is he going to win this battle? Guess what... he won without even lifting his sword. God made the impossible, possible. Imagine what God can do in your life. No matter what situation you are in, no matter how big it may seem God is bigger. Sometimes we have to go through tough times to understand how much we need him because in our weakness He is strong. We are going to go through seasons where we say God I don't think I'm going to make in through, God I don't think I can climb this mountain anymore. But you know what God would say I am going to get you through this I am going to get you over this mountain even when you fall a couple times I'm going to be there to pick you right back up because he loves YOU and he's not done with you yet. God has a plan for you! When you don't understand why you are going through the season you are going through just trust the Lord because he is good and will bring good. He is our living hope. When you feel like you are drowning look up to God and cry out to him. God is there for you today, tomorrow, and yesterday. He loves YOU!

• Psalms 145:9 (NIV) "The lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made."

• Psalms 34:17 (NIV) "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."

• Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV) "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."

God will get through whatever you are battling! <3
